I'm very pleased to learn that you are considering joining my University here @ UNITEN in Malaysia which is currently ranked as the 7th best in Malaysia

 

I have carefully prepared for you a summary of all the details you will need in order to better acquaint yourself with the admission details, processes and procedures of our beloved University.

 

I have outlined the most important sections for your perusal and should you have any questions or the need for clarification, you already know where and how to contact me.

ABOUT 

 

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) is a private university, located in Selangor, Malaysia, with GLC university status. It is wholly owned by the public-listed Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), established in 1999.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional operates from two campuses; one is the main campus in Putrajaya, and the other is in Bandar Muadzam Shah.[3]

 

 

Putrajaya (main campus)

This campus is 25 miles to the south of Kuala Lumpur near Kajang in Selangor, and has an area of 214 hectares. It is near the Cyberjaya Multimedia Super Corridor and adjacent to Putrajaya, the administrative center of the Federal Government of Malaysia. All engineering, information technology and other technology courses are held at this campus.

 

 

Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (branch campus)

This branch is located at Bandar Muadzam Shah, Pahang. It officially opened on 4 May 2001. The campus offers accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resources, and business courses.

All completed application form must be accompanied by:

A non-refundable application processing fee of RM30 for local students and RM120 or USD30 for international students, in the form of a bank draft made payable to "Universiti Tenaga Nasional Sdn. Bhd.".

      • Four copies of non-returnable passport-size colored photographs of applicant.

      • For local students - attach a certified true copy of Identity Card.

      • For International students - attach three copies each of all marked/stamped passport pages including blank pages.

      • Certified true copies of all relevant result transcripts/ academic certificates. (All transcripts must be certified and translated into English, if original transcripts are not in English /Malay).

      • For PhD and Masters programme by research, please attach your research proposal.

 

All applications for Postgraduate programmes, in addition to the above, require recommendations from two referees (preferably academic referees). 

 

The referee form will be emailed directly to the referees (suggested by the applicant). Please ensure that the referees fill the form and email it back to the college of graduate studies within 7 days.

 

 

METHOD OF PAYMENT:

Local Application (RM30) can be paid through several method as stated below: -

 

      • Bank Islam (M) Bhd. Counter and Bank Islam Online Banking (Bill Presentment). Please write Application Online ID in the Bill Payment Slip and select payment type (processing fees/BMK/Registration Fee etc.)

      • Cash & Credit Card through UNITEN Customer Centre (UCC) - Time: 8.30 am – 4.00 pm Fri: 8.30 am – 12.00 noon, 3.00pm – 4.00pm (Working days only)

      • Online banking – Maybank2u.com.my (Bill Payment – Universiti Tenaga Nasional)

Entry Requirements

STRUCTURE A - PHD

      • Masters in the relevant domain, or

      • Masters in a related domain with 2 years experience in the domain (including at least 2 publications in the domain, or 

      • Bachelors in the domain with 1st class with honours or CGPA 3.67* and above. For this qualification, candidates must register for Master Programme (Structure A), and apply for conversion to PhD in not earlier than six months and within one year of registration but subject to assessments and approval by Senate. For detail of conversion scheme, refer to COGS Academic Regulation.

 

STRUCTURE A & B - MASTERS

      • Bachelors in the relevant domain with 2nd class upper with honours or CGPA 2.75* and above, or 

      • Bachelors in the relevant domain with 2nd class lower with honours or CGPA 2.50*-2.74*, and 1 year experience in the domain and at least 1 publication the domain, or 2 years professional experience in the domain 

      • Bachelors in the relevant domain with CGPA below 2.50, and 5 years experience in the domain 

      • Bachelors in a related domain with 2nd class upper with honours or CGPA 2.75* and above, and 1 year experience in the domain (including at least 1 publication in the domain)

 

STRUCTURE C (BUSINESS PROGRAM) - MASTERS (as offered)

      • Bachelors in the relevant or related domain with 2nd class lower with honours or CGPA 2.50* and above 

      • Applicants with minimum 2 years experience are preferred 

      • CGPA below 2.50 with 5 years or professional experience

 

STRUCTURE C (ENGINEERING PROGRAM) - MASTERS (as offered)

      • Bachelors in the relevant domain with 2nd class-lower with honours or CGPA 2.50* and above, or

      • Bachelors in the relevant domain with CGPA below 2.50 and 5 years experience in the domain

      • Bachelors in a related domain with 2nd class-lower with honours or CGPA 2.50* and above, and 1 year experience in the domain (including at least 1 publication in the domain)

 

NOTE

*The CGPA is out of 4.0 

**Entry requirements are correct at the time of printing and Senate UNITEN may decide on eligibility of students as and when required

 

FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The validity period for requirement should not be more than two (2) years. TOEFL ITP is not an acceptable alternative

 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Local and foreign students who hold degrees from institutions with non-English medium will be required to have proficiency in written and spoken English in one of the following:

You must have proof of good proficiency in verbal and written English through the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL) or its equivalent  as follows:

      1. with score of 6.0 (IELTS) or 600 (TOEFL) or its equivalent for computing or business studies

      1. with score of 5.0 (IELTS) or 500 (TOEFL)  or its equivalent for engineering studies

 

This requirement is waived if you:-

      1. are a native of an English speaking country, or

      1. have obtained your Bachelor and other relevant degree from an institution whereby all courses are fully conducted  in English; or have completed your studies in Malaysia subject to clause (b) and intend to pursue a higher degree.
